File Management

File sharing capability, integrated with the Enterprise File Server and Enterprise Search, allows organizations to easily and affordably build both internal and external file management web shares.

Public & Private Sharing

Support for both public and private file and photo sharing is fully supported through a rich set of permissions. Furthermore, files can additionally be configured for “login to download”, which tracks all downloads and makes reports available; additionally files can be configured for license acceptance prior to continuing the download.

Tags

Enables authors to use keywords to "tag" photos, then provides tools for readers to browse tags or even subscribe to tags.

Photo Resizing

CommunityServer includes automatic tools to resize any images uploaded into the system. This ensures that today’s large high quality images (1mb+ in size) taken with digital cameras can automatically be scaled to 3 sizes plus storage of the original. This reduces bandwidth consumption and allows authors to use thumbnails of the images in their blog or forum entries.

Comments

Supports anonymous commenting; Authenticated only commenting; or a combination of the two.

EXIF Data

Metadata stored with the picture can be extracted and optionally displayed with the photo.

Ratings

Enable members and visitors to rate photos.

Statistics

Tracks statistics such as total view and downloads.

Download Reports

Download reports enable community managers to review who downloaded, number of downloads, and user profile information. Download reports are a great data mining tool for collecting user information.

Enterprise File Server integration

Integration with the Enterprise File Sever allows user’s to drag-and-drop photos from their desktop into directories as well as quickly copy-paste from the photo gallery onto their local desktop.

Quotas

Support for quotas to control the maximum number of storage space that may be used for images.

Forum and Blog Integration

Easily integrate with CommunityServer’s blogs and forum tools for adding in photos inline to posts.

Permissions

Supports a range of permissions that are assigned to groups. Specific permissions include:

• View – Controls access to the ability to see a photo gallery. This permission is used to control public/private access.
• Comment – Ability to add comments to photos.
• Manage – Ability to manage a photo gallery, including uploading and deleting photos.
